Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, taking their orders and providing recommendations as needed

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, according to established recipes and standards

• Operate coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines and grinders, ensuring the proper extraction and brewing techniques

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee bar, equipment, and utensils

• Handle cash and process transactions accurately, following policies and procedures

• Uphold high standards of customer service, ensuring that all guests have a positive experience and addressing any concerns or complaints promptly

• Prepare and serve light food fare with minimal preparation

• Assist in stocking and replenishing supplies, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients

• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices

• Stay updated on the latest coffee trends, brewing methods, and product offerings to provide an exceptional customer experience

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately

• Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (e.g., bags of coffee beans)

• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and willingness to adhere to them

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Baker to join the Rise Coffee House team. As Assistant Baker, you will be responsible for supporting our head baker in preparing a variety of freshly baked goods, including bread, light breakfast fare & sweet and savoury pastries. Your passion for baking and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our cafe. The ideal candidate should have excellent baking skills, creativity, and a strong commitment to producing high-quality products.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods under the guidance of our head baker

Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring appropriate proportions and consistency

Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens & mixers

Monitor baking process, adjusting temperature and timing as needed to achieve desired results

Decorate and present baked goods in a visually appealing manner

Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area

Wash dishes and maintaining a clean work space

Inventory counts, receive shipments and restocking

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Baker or relevant culinary training is preferred

Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment

Attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality baked goods

Strong organizational and time management skills to meet production deadlines

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other cafe staff

Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs

Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks

Understanding of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
